Wide rectangular frames and lenses broaden peripheral vision and add width to a wearer’s face. Select plastic or metal frames with clear or tinted corrective lenses. Rectangle prescription glasses are compatible with most lens thicknesses, though wrap-around styles may cause distortion with high RX lenses. When properly sized, these frames flatter diamond, oblong, oval and triangular face shapes.
The benefits of a wider field of vision extend to UV protection outdoors. Less light is likely to enter around the sides of rectangular frames than narrower square-shaped frames.
