Many styles of glasses with clear or tinted lenses feature anti reflective coatings. These treatments can reduce the amount of light that strikes the back of lenses and bounces into your eyes. The lenses of most anti reflective safety glasses feature a thin film that equalizes the intensity of light reflected from the inner and outer surfaces.

In addition to reducing reflection, tinted lenses with anti reflective coatings also absorb certain wavelengths on the light spectrum. Polarized sunglasses lenses can further reduce the intensity of glare. Mirrored lenses reflect more light away from your eyes, making this type of coating effective for snow and water activities.
